2012 Update
Much has happened this year, and now we can finally let you all know!
2012 kicked off with a bang, with Bob leaving us all for Wellington and Vanessa leaving for Auckland. Lisa joined the team as the new Team Manager, managing the high level, overall running of the team. Lynn also joined us part time to take on Vanessa’s role as Office Manager.
Jeremy, Simon and Albert became the ruling trifecta for the team, until a decision was made to appoint Simon to the position of Team Leader. Simon now manages the day to day running of the team, and so far he and Lisa have everything running smoothly. Bryan will be welcomed into the team in the more formal, full time position of Business Analyst later in the year. He will be coving the BA work that Simon has had to drop in favour of managerial responsibilities.
Forecaster and GeoMaster have seen new versions walk out the doors, and the whole team have been kept busy with support requests, latest versions of products, as well as other Scion projects, such as MyLand, Seed Quest and CHPS. Releases to look out for in the next few months include Forecaster v1.12, GeoMaster v1.19 and YTM v2.4.
The team is also using the relatively quiet time to develop road maps for each of the ATLAS products. This process is being used to determine how products will be developed in the future, with some rather interesting results. Each roadmap is then used to plan what new features will go into upcoming releases, while ensuring that the products follow an overall path. The individual product road maps are then used to create a giant roadmap for the team, helping us to plan workloads and release dates.
The team are also facing a location change before the end of the year, all things going to plan. No longer confined to the basement, the team will move upstairs to overlook the oval. We look forward to welcoming you to our new space in the New Year.
Finally, Praneita will be going on maternity leave for the first 6 months of next year. Sarah, Bryan, Simon and others will be covering her Test Analyst role. We wish her all the best with the birth and impending arrival of Baby Narayan.
